I'm Jason Finney, former Republican Committeeman for the 43rd Ward.
I'm the kind of guy who thinks 'Midwestern-nice' is a compliment, and I tend to think the best of people. I grew up in Michigan and attended the University of Michigan where I studied economics. My job in the automotive industry took me to Illinois, where I earned by MBA at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I now work in finance, and have made a little home in Lincoln Park.
Like so many people who have moved to the Windy City from somewhere else, I've fallen in love with Chicago. The restaurants, the lake, the people, everything about it is so perfect - except the taxes! Illinois ranks third in out migration, behind only New York and California, and most people site lack of economic freedom as their reason.
If one were to add just a little economic liberty to the already great mix of hard work and ingenuity displayed by the people of Chicago, we could attract and retain the best people and make this city work for everyone.
I love this city. I know that the people that I've met, both Democrat and Republican, are working hard to make it the best that it can be.
